+++1 = Alabama (Group A, above)
       The state's Democratic Party leadership kept Truman's name off of all state ballots,
       and apparently offered the voters unpledged electors instead. Thurmond and Dewey were
       the only named candidates eligible to receive Electoral Points.

No winner in the Electoral Points Proposal format. A run-off between Truman and Dewey
would be scheduled for Tuesday November 30th, 1948. If Dewey wins the run-off, then
he would be inaugurated on February 3rd 1949, two weeks later than the regular January
20th date. If Truman won the run-off, he would be inaugurated on the regular January
20th date.

Make special note that Truman is only 509 points short of the 71,510 need-to-win mark,
while Dewey is 10,500 points behind Truman and 11,509 points short of the need-to-win
mark. If Dewey felt that he could not surpass Truman and win the run-off, then Dewey
could exercise the Voluntary Concession Option.

If Dewey did indeed choose not to go through with the run-off and voluntarily conceded
the race, then 519 of his own electoral points would be given to Truman, who would then
be certified as the 1948 election, with a final point count of 71,520 to Dewey's 59,982.

In actual fact, Truman was the outright winner of the 1948 election.
