    ------------------------------------- 31 Aaron Wise 1,241 Par
** Talor Gooch, listed as the #29 player, was ruled ineligible for the Fed Ex Cup playoffs and the Tour Championship, due to his
participation in the LIV Golf Series. As a result, Aaron Wise, #31 with 1,241 points, was added to the Tour Championship field.

** Will Zalatoris, pre-tournament #3 player, had to withdraw prior to the start of play due to herniated disks in his back.

Zalatoris was -NOT- replaced in the field, now down to just 29 players. This
would leave #32 Shane Lowry, with 1,222 points, on the outside looking in.

In spite of the vacant spot, the reset scores were -NOT- re-assigned, and so every player from Xander Schauffele
on down would start with the same reset scores given to them prior to the Zalatoris withdrawal.

2 .. Pre-2022 Tour Championship .... Actual and Alternative Fed Ex Cup Points

Because of the reset scoring format being used, there will be no points distribution at the 2022
Tour Championship. Shown below are the reset scores assigned to each of the 30 positions.
     1.. -10 6.. -4 11.. -3 16.. -2 21.. -1 26.. Par
     2.. -8 7.. -4 12.. -3 17.. -2 22.. -1 27.. Par
     3.. -7 8.. -4 13.. -3 18.. -2 23.. -1 28.. Par
     4.. -6 9.. -4 14.. -3 19.. -2 24.. -1 29.. Par
     5.. -5 10.. -4 15.. -3 20.. -2 25.. -1 30.. Par
Now, we will assume that, in our "alternative" scenario, the non-reset points-to-date are being used instead of the
pre-tournament reset scores. On this basis, a calculated total of 30,000 Tour Championship points are approved and
announced on the Monday before the start of the tournament. The complete 30-place distribution is as follows ....
     1.. 5,000 6.. 1,200 11.. 780 16.. 680 21.. 590 26.. 540
     2.. 2,750 7.. 1,050 12.. 760 17.. 660 22.. 580 27.. 530
     3.. 2,100 8.. 900 13.. 740 18.. 640 23.. 570 28.. 520
     4.. 1,600 9.. 850 14.. 720 19.. 620 24.. 560 29.. 510
     5.. 1,400 10.. 800 15.. 700 20.. 600 25.. 550 30.. 500
With the alternative points distribution in effect, a few of the potential scenarios it creates are as follows ....

»» Players #1 thru #15 ........ JUST WIN, BABY!

»» Players #16 thru #19
Combination of winning Tour Championship (5,000 pts)
    -AND-
Both Scottie Scheffler and Patrick Cantlay finishing no better than
    a two-way tie for 2nd (2,425 pts)

»» Players #20 thru #24
Combination of winning Tour Championship (5,000 pts)
    -AND-
Both Scottie Scheffler and Patrick Cantlay finishing no better
    than solo 3rd (2,100 pts)

»» Players #25 thru #28
Combination of winning Tour Championship (5,000 pts)
    -AND-
Both Scottie Scheffler and Patrick Cantlay finishing
no better than solo 3rd (2,100 pts)
    -AND- (before his withdrawal)
Will Zalatoris finishing no better than
    a two-way tie for 2nd (2,425 pts)

»» Players #30 and #31
(# 29, Talor Gooch, ruled ineligible due to LIV Golf participation)
Combination of winning Tour Championship (5,000 pts)
    -AND-
Patrick Cantlay finishing no better than solo 3rd (2,100 pts)
    -AND-
Scottie Scheffler finishing no better than a two-way tie for 3rd (1,850 pts)
    -AND- (before his withdrawal)
Will Zalatoris finishing no better than a two-way tie for 2nd (2,425 pts)

The customized alternative Tour Championship points makes the 2022 Fed Ex Cup winning scenarios less complex and
easier to understand. Also, a sense of real urgency to play as well as one can rather than just coasting along is created,
especially for the leading players who, in the right scenario, can easily be surpassed by any player in the field.

Now, on to the actual 2022 Tour Championship results, which will include the alternative points distribution and the
various potential scenarios which have been created by such points. One can compare and contrast both Tour
Championship reset and non-reset scores, as well as the final "actual" and "alternative" Fed Ex Cup standings.

NOTE = In the "Alternative" reality, Will Zalatoris is credited with
unofficial tournament money of $ 240,000. Meanwhile, also in the
"Alternative" mode, Talor Gooch is classified as being a non-entry,
          thereby receiving no tournament money.

5 .. Final 2022 Fed Ex Cup Top 30 Standings .... Actual and Alternative

In "alternative" mode, many of the players experienced significant financial gains, due to a combination
of the Tour Championship's "alternative" mode regular purse and their final Fed Ex Cup standings.

Best "alternative" paydays .... Rory McIlroy, $ 20.7 million ($ 2.70 million tournament, $ 18 million Cup);
Sungaie Im, $ 8,120,000 ($ 1.62 million tournament, $ 6.50 million Cup, gain of $ 2.37 million); Max Homa,
$ 4,035,000 ($ 1.035 million tournament, $ 3.0 million Cup, gain of $ 1,285,000); Patrick Cantlay, $ 4,308,000
($ 308,000 tournament, $ 4.00 million Cup, gain of $ 1,808,000); Will Zalatoris, at least $ 2,240,000, which
includes $ 240,000 unofficial tournament money plus at least an additional $ 1,500,000 of FedEx bonus money).

On the "alternative" flip side, Xander Schauffele and Justin Thomas experienced big losses of FedEx bonus money,
but those losses were partially negated by the "alternative" tournament money both players earned.
** = Each player's score in the actual results is the combination of the pre-tournament
     under-even-over par reset score and the player's in-tournament 72-hole under-even-over
     par total.
