2023 Wells Fargo Championship (PGA Tour)
Quail Hollow G.C. (par-71 / 7,538 yds)
$ 20,000,000 // $ 3.60-million, 1st prize
Actual 36-hole cut, 68 professionals at 1-under-141 or better
using Low-65 and ties ...... 14 pros alone at 1-under, tied for 55th
The field of 68 pros was assigned in twosome groups, all going off
from the 1st tee. The first twosome went off at 7:40 am Eastern
Time, the last twosome at 1:20 pm Eastern. Normal tee time intervals
were 10 minutes, with 15 minute intervals occurring four times.
Hypothetical 36-hole cut, 80 professionals at even-par-142 or better
first using 14 pros alone at 1-under, tied for 55th
Low 72 and ties ** ......... 12 pros alone at even-par, tied for 69th
** same results with Low 80 and ties
Next using 54 professionals at 2-under-140 or better
Low 50 and ties ............ 17 pros alone at 2-under, tied for 38th
The first option with a field of 54 players could have been to send everyone
out in groups of two, all teeing off from hole # 1. Assuming that 10-minute
intervals were used, the first group could have gone off at 8:50 am Eastern.
Only one 15-minute interval could have been used, this between groups 14
and 15 (11:00 am, 11:15 am respective local). The last group could have gone
off at 1:15 pm Eastern.
The second option could have been to send out twosomes from both the 1st and
10th tees. Normal intervals between groups could have been 11 minutes. The
first groups could have gone off at 10:55 am. A 19-minute interval could
have occured between groups 7-21 and 8-22 (12:01 pm, 12:20 pm respective
local). The last groups could have gone off at 1:15 pm Eastern.

using Low-65 and ties ...... 14 pros alone at 1-over, tied for 53rd
Hypothetical 36-hole cut, 81 professionals at 2-over-146 or better

Low 72 and ties ** ......... 15 pros alone at 2-over, tied for 67th

2023 AT&T Byron Nelson Classic (PGA Tour)
TPC at Craig Ranch (par-71 / 7,414 yds)
$ 9,500,000 // $ 1.71-million, 1st prize
Actual 36-hole cut, 84 professionals at 4-under-138 or better
using Low-65 and ties ...... 20 pros alone at 4-under, tied for 65th
With a field of 84 players finishing the final 36 holes, as well as
playing in the Central Time Zone, the format was set as threesomes
going off both the 1st and 10th tees. The tee time intervals were
set at 10 minutes each, with the first groups going off at 10:10 am
Central Time, and the last groups off at 12:20 pm Central Time.
Hypothetical 36-hole cut, 84 professionals at 4-under-138 or better
first using 20 pros alone at 4-under, tied for 65th
Low 72 and ties ** ......... ** same results with Low 80 and ties
Next using 64 professionals at 5-under-137 or better
Low 50 and ties ............ 17 pros alone at 5-under, tied for 48th
If just 64 professionals were finishing out the final 36 holes of play, then
the format conceivably could have been twosomes off both the 1st and 10th
tees, with tee time intervals set at 11 minutes apart. Between groups 8-16
and 9-17 (10:47 am, 11:05 am respective local), there could have been an
18-minute interval.
The first groups could have gone off at 9:30 am Central (10:30 am Eastern),
only 40 minutes earlier than the actual times -- still comfortably in the
mid-morning range. The last groups of the day could have teed off at 12:22
pm Central (1:22 pm Eastern).
If 10 minute intervals were employed, while still sending out twosomes off
both the 1st and 10th tees, then the first groups would go off at 9:45 am
Central (10:45 am Eastern). There could have been a 15-minute interval
between groups 8-16 and 9-17 (10:55 am, 11:10 am respective local). The
day's last groups could have teed off at 12:20 pm Central (1:20 pm Eastern).
