2024 Sony-Hawaii Open (PGA Tour)
Waialae Country Club (par-70 / 7,044 yds)
$ 8,300,000 // $ 1.494-million, 1st prize
Actual 36-hole cut, 82 players at 2-under-138 or better
using Low-65 and ties ........ 18 players alone at 2-under-138, tied for 65th
Hypothetical 36-hole cut, 82 players at 2-under-138 or better
using either Low-72 and ties 18 players alone at 2-under-138, tied for 65th
or Low-80 and ties 10 players alone at 3-under-137, tied for 55th
--- 17 players alone at 4-under-136, tied for 38th
Hypothetical 2nd 36-hole cut 54 players at 4-under-136 or better
to Low-50 and ties ........... 17 players alone at 4-under-136, tied for 38th
NOTE .. Tyson Alexander was among the 82 players who made the actual-fact Low-65 cut,
and played the 3rd round, but then withdrew before the 4th round. Under the
actual-fact rules, his finish was not official, and he was therefore not
entitled to receive official money and Fed Ex Points.
In both Low-72 or Low-80 Double-Cut formats, Alexander would have still played
the 3rd round. However, in either such hypothetical scenario, the post 3rd
round withdrawal would have resulted in his status being reverted to that of
Low-72 or Low-80 cut, rather than Low-50. Under the Double-Cut rules, he would
have received official finish credit, along with the appropriate amounts of
money and Fed Ex points, both also official.
2024 American Express Challenge of Hope (PGA Tour)
La Quinta Country Club (par-72 / 7,060 yds)

Pete Dye Stadium Club (par-72 / 7,187 yds)
$ 8,400,000 // $ 1.512-million, 1st prize
The Amex Challenge of Hope uses a 72-hole pro-amateur format. Two-player teams play one of
three courses over the first 54 holes. After 54 holes, the team portion concludes, while
the individual competition's field is cut down for the final 18 holes.
Actual 36-hole cut, 67 players at 13-under-203 or better
using Low-65 and ties ........ 11 players alone at 13-under, tied for 57th
Hypothetical 36-hole cut, 77 players at 12-under-204 or better
using Low-72 and ties ........ 10 players alone at 12-under, tied for 68th
Hypothetical 36-hole cut, 95 players at 11-under-205 or better
using Low-80 and ties ........ 18 players alone at 11-under, tied for 78th
Hypothetical 2nd 36-hole cut 56 players at 14-under-202 or better
to Low-50 and ties ........... 18 players alone at 14-under, tied for 39th
2024 Farmers-San Diego Open (PGA Tour)
Torrey Pines-North (par-72 / 7,258 yds)
Torrey Pines-South (par-72 / 7,765 yds)
$ 9,000,000 // $ 1.620-million, 1st prize
Actual 36-hole cut, 79 players at 3-under-141 or better
using Low-65 and ties ........ 16 players alone at 3-under, tied for 64th
Hypothetical 36-hole cut,
using Low-72 and ties ........ Same as Low-65
Hypothetical 36-hole cut, 99 players at 2-under-142 or better
using Low-80 and ties ........ 20 players alone at 2-under, tied for 80th
Hypothetical 2nd 36-hole cut 63 players at 4-under-140 or better
to Low-50 and ties ........... 14 players alone at 4-under, tied for 50th
The 2024 Drive On Championship (LPGA Tour)
Bradenton Country Club (par-71 / 6,557 yds)
Purse: $ 1,750,000 // 1st prize: $ 262,500
Actual 36-hole cut, 68 players at even-par-142 or better
using Low-65 and ties ........ 9 players alone at even par, tied for 60th
Hypothetical 36-hole cut, 75 players at 1-over-143 or better
using Low-72 and ties ........ 7 players alone at 1-over, tied for 69th
Hypothetical 36-hole cut, 80 players at 2-over-144 or better
using Low-80 and ties ........ 5 players alone at 2-over, tied for 76th
Hypothetical 2nd 36-hole cut 59 players at 1-under-141 or better
to Low-50 and ties ........... 20 players alone at 1-under, tied for 40th
NOTE ... In "actual-fact" two players, Georgia Hall (74-68-74) and Gaby Lopez
(70-71-75) both withdrew after 54 holes, and therefore did not play
the final 18. However, the final results (see the link) show that
both Hall and Lopez received $ 3,809. However, because it was a
72-hole event and neither player completed all 72 holes, the money
each player received is -NOT- considered to be official.
In the "alternative" Low-72/Low-80 scenarios, Hall (at even-par-142)
would be finished after 36 holes, and would have received both
official finish credit, along with the appropriate amount of prize
money, also offcial.
Meanwhile, Lopez (at 1-under-141) would have advanced to the 3rd round,
and then upon withdrawing after 54 holes would have her status - under
Low-72 or Low-80 rules - reverted from Low-50 to Low 72 or Low-80. As
a result of this, Lopez would have received official finish credit,
along with the appropriate amount of prize money, also official.
2024 W.M. of USA Phoenix Open (PGA Tour)
TPC of Scottsdale, Stadium Course (par-71 / 7,261 yds)
$ 8,800,000 // $ 1.584-million, 1st prize
Actual 36-hole cut, 73 players at 2-under-140 or better
using Low-65 and ties ........ 17 players alone at 2-under, tied for 57th
Hypothetical 36-hole cut,
using Low-72 and ties ........ Same as Low-65
Hypothetical 36-hole cut, 88 players at 1-under-141 or better
using Low-80 and ties ........ 15 players alone at 1-under, tied for 74th
Hypothetical 2nd 36-hole cut 56 players at 3-under-139 or better
to Low-50 and ties ........... 13 players alone at 3-under, tied for 44th
As a result of all the rain delays that have occured going into late
Saturday afternoon, there will be, in actual fact, 73 players starting
the 3rd round, which will probably not be completed until Sunday morning.
If this holds true, and if no more delays occur, then the 4th round would
start within a short period after the 3rd is over, and hopefully be
finished by Sunday evening, before the Super Bowl kicks off.
In this particular case, the alternative use of the 2nd Low-50 cut would
leave those 17 players who are alone at 2-under-140 out of the mix for
the last 36 holes. Of course, under the double-cut rules, those 17 would
have received official finish credit, including money and points.
With only 56 players advancing to the final 36, the chances of finishing
up on Sunday evening, again assuming no further weather delays, would
have been greatly improved. This argument is made a little stronger due
to the fact that the final round wasn't over by the time Super Bowl LVIII
(58) kicked off, and the two hole sudden-death playoff didn't end until
almost 8:00 PM. By this point, the Arizona daylight was melting away very
rapidly, and it was somewhat doubtful that a 3rd playoff hole could have
been played out before total darkness ruled.
